ESRB Launches New PSA Campaign with Artwork by Penny Arcade

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) today introduced a new work of art PSA campaign designed by the creators of the popular video arcade webcomic Penny. The national press in three parts and the online features of the campaign based on caricatures of real parents and players, each a unique perspective on the ESRB ratings and rating tools such as abstracts and application of mobile ESRB. These ads will begin appearing this spring in the media focused on parents and game enthusiasts in the country and can be found here.
Designed in the style

This provides greater clarity for parents who correctly followed the content their children are exposed and gives them a better tool to assist in decisions relating to such content.

This campaign is the latest in ongoing efforts to educate parents ESRBs the tools at their disposal. ESRB participates in various public education initiatives, including PSA campaigns with retailers, professional sports teams and politicians, including governors, attorneys general and legislators.
Since its inception in 1994, the ESRB ratings have become a trusted resource for parents when choosing computer and video games. According to recent research by Peter D. Hart Research Associates and commissioned by the ESRB, 85% of parents with children who play video games are aware of ESRB ratings, two-thirds of regular use, and over three quarters believe that the system classification useful in allowing them to choose games for their children.
